FAQs

Bookings, Cancellations & Payments

What is your cancellation policy?

For single, one-off sessions (Paint your Own Pottery, School holiday, Intro to Pottery and Curated sessions)

We’re happy to refund your booking up to 72 hours before your session. Between 72 and 12 hours, we can re-book you for another date or issue a studio credit for future use. After 12 hours, bookings are non-refundable and non-transferable.

For ongoing classes

For all our ongoing classes, you can cancel your booking or move your booking to another time up to 3-hours before the class start time. After that time, the booking is non-refundable and non-transferable.

For all sessions

If Clae Space needs to cancel a class or event, you can choose to transfer to another date, receive a credit, or request a refund.

How many people will be in the class?

In order to run our classes and events, we need a minimum of 3 people. If we don't meet the minimum bookings, we will notify you 24 hours prior to the class and either refund your ticket or transfer you to the next available date. The maximum number of people in the class varies from 6 to 12 people.

What if I need extra assistance or have a disability?

Please reach out to us to chat about your specific needs by emailing us {link} or giving us a call or text to 0457 667 840. We pride ourselves on being an inclusive and supportive studio and are always happy to chat about how we can welcome each individual into the space.

What do I need to bring to the workshop?

Please bring a water bottle, any layers to keep warm/stay cool. Clay can get messy so please wear clothes that you’re happy to get dirty in. If you are working on the wheel, it is recommended to bring a towel to drape over your lap (and to wipe your hands on). Short nails are your friend! You can still work the clay with longer nails however it makes it a bit more challenging. If you or your child has any specific needs, please let us know.

What do we supply?

We provide aprons, all clay, tools and firing! We have a small kitchenette, a tea and coffee station and a toilet on site.

Where can I park?

We are lucky to have a lot of parking in our area! There is parking available across from our studio and up the ramp. We just ask that you don’t park in front of our neighbours warehouses.

What can I do while my child is at a workshop?

There are a couple of lovely cafes near the studio. Soul is a 1 min walk from the studio and Miner’s Gold is a 1 min drive. Both are great stops for a relaxing coffee and nibble whist your children get creative. Otherwise we are fortunate to be right near the Aqueduct Trail. Walk to the end of the street, towards Micky’s Fitness and join the track at the start. There are many different sections to enjoy and lots of furry friends!

What kind of private parties or workshops can you run?

We love to host events here at Clae Space and have a selection of workshop offerings for you to choose from.

We can also cater for your event with a delicious sharing platters and drinks.

Read more about them here {link to Private parties page}.

Who am I leaving my children with?

We understand that it can be hard to leave your child with us (as much as you can’t wait to get some time!). We can assure you that all our teachers and staff have Working with Children Checks and we have our Child Safe policy here {link}. Most are parents themselves or have extensive experience working with children, so understand the creative needs of children and how to help them achieve their creative dreams.

What happens if I start sketching or painting a Paint Your Own Pottery (PYOP) piece but change my mind?

Once you start sketching or painting on any PYOP piece, it becomes yours and must be paid for at that session.

This is because once a design has been applied, even lightly, the piece can no longer be returned to stock or sold to someone else as traces of the design will remain on the surface.
