Tuesday Evening: Wheel Throwing

Tuesday 6:30pm - 8:30pm with Vivienne Taylor

Starting Tuesday 16 July - Tuesday 12 September (no class on Tuesday 4 September)

This course is guided by the skill level of the participants - adapted for beginners and those who would like to expand their knowledge in wheel throwing and clay. A wonderful course to learn more about the medium of clay and the perfect way to unwind in a creative, nurturing setting. 

Finish the term with a glazing week that will be all about the different ways you can use and explore our extensive in house glaze collection to put the finishing touch of your creations.

Over the 8 weeks, Viv Taylor will guide you to explore multiple ways of making and learn how to create mugs, bowls, vases and more. 

Our longer course gives you an in-depth chance to work on all the fundamentals of wheel throwing with clay - from clay preparation, centering and pulling up to decorating and glazing your final pieces. If you have your fundamentals down, then this course will allow you to explore different shapes and ways of wheel throwing.

What you will learn :

• The fundamentals of throwing forms on the wheel
• Different throwing techniques each week
• How to create different shapes
• Glazing techniques - exploring bubble glazing and our in-house glazes

• Clay, tools, glazes and firing

• Bisque firing included
• Glaze firing - 7kg included, extra kgs charged at $12p/kg
