9 week course starting Monday 22 April - Monday 24 June (no class on Monday 10 June)

This Term we are running a Combo class for you to learn both wheel throwing and hand building!

Over the 9 weeks, Jessie will guide you through the fundamentals of both wheel throwing and hand building. Three weeks will be spent learning the basics of each technique and then you'll have a week to work on a project of your choice using either technique.

The course will cover the principles of wheel throwing - from clay preparation, centering and pulling up - and the different hand building techniques - pinching, coiling and slab building. 

At the end of Term, you will have two glazing weeks, the first one with a guest teacher - Adele Macer - who will show us how to do bubble glazing! The second glazing week will be all about the different ways you can use and explore our in house glaze collection to put the finishing touch of your creations.

This course allows you to learn more about clay and explore two main techniques of creating ceramics - what a perfect way to unwind in a creative, nurturing setting!

You will come away with pieces ranging from mugs, bowls, cups, vases to incense burners and plates!

• Glaze firing - 7.5kg included, extra kgs charged at $12p/kg
